Uchi Bowl: History and Highlights from Uchi Bowl VII

Uchi Bowl.

A tradition founded in the earlier days of the Uchi Empire. Before there was Uchiko or Uchi Houston. Before Dallas or Denver or Loro were even a twinkle in the eye. There was just Uchi. Closed on Super Bowl Sunday to allow the entire staff a day off, a tradition was born. A flag football game between the front and back-of-house. Like Puppy Bowl, but better. And also, oddly similar, because we live in Austin and all have dogs. But better because there’s a Chuck Norris trophy. More on that later.

Uchi enjoyed this tradition as a fun, in-house competition until Uchiko came along. The #sundayfunday-friendly-flag football game with no real winner morphed into an all out family rivalry. Complete with a score board, referees and a clear winner. One who receives bragging rights for the year and most importantly the traveling Chuck Norris trophy.

See what happened during the Uchi Bowl Sunday 2017 or relive the moments if you were there. It was a great game!

Thanks to everyone who worked to make this event happen. Special thanks to Felipe Lerner of Uchi Austin who shot and edited this video.
